Satan, Take Your Hands Off Our Children! by Elder Calvin D. Anderson Sr.

Jesus, in the book of Matthew, v 26:41, wisely instructed his disciples to 'watch' as well as 'pray' so that they would not lose focus on what matters most in 'times of trials' and that is: 'not giving over to the weaknesses of the flesh' and subsequently taking matters into our own hands and not trusting God totally and completely for our understanding and guidance. (Proverbs 3:5) ....For those of us who are members of the body of Christ, the enemy (satan) has always used temptation, both 'corporately' and 'custom-made' to distract us from the more important things in life; one thing being the 'raising' and 'upbringing' of our children in the nuture and admonition of the Lord, (Ephesians 6:4). 

Over the last two decades of my life I have noticed a most disturbing pattern of occurence: While those of us who call on the name of the Lord in these times have been putting a lot of our focus on personal development, working more than one job to make ends meet and a myriad of other things, our eternal enemy satan has been covertly orchestrating and implementing a plan to snatch our children away from us and systematically destroy them through indifference, apathy, and ignorance; often with our consent!!!!. YES, you heard me right! We have allowed the enemy to literally take our children form the protection of our loving arms and in turn set them up for destruction!

HARSH WORDS?!?!.....You better believe they are!!!!...But ask yourself this: IS IT TRUE?!?!?!..........

 

Unfortunately YES!...  Please take a moment to consider our present state of existence here in the United States of America especially as we take a look at how we go about with the upbringing of our children or the lack thereof............................

 

Observations to Consider:

 

In spite of a global recession the UNITED STATES of AMERICA is still one of the richest countries on the face of the Earth. Our problem is not a lack of resources such as food, shelter and clothing, it is the uneven distribution of those resources, Yet if you were to take a child in this country who is considered poor by our standards, he/she would still be considered 'blessed with substance' compared to a large number of children  elsewhere in the world who literally do not have water to drink, a consistent meal of any sort, or in a lot of cases, a safe place to call home. If you take a look at children in any impoverished neighborhood here in the U.S.A. and compared them to children in

third world countries, you would find our children to be way ahead 'substance' wise. We have children in this world who were not born in our country who can only dream of the things we take for granted, and hearin lies the problem: While too many parents here in this country have been busy providing their children with 'things', we have not always provided them with the 'THINGS' that matter most such as:.....................

A solid foundation in the word of God!

Teaching them Unconditional Love and Forgivness!

Taking time to really Listen to your child's heart! 

Teaching them to both 'share' and 'care' being considerate of others

Modeling Honesty and Truth before them

 

I look upon the morose state of a lot of our children ( Some of them Children of Christian parents) with their hardened hearts, melancholic dispositions, disrespectful attitudes, inappropriate apparel, moral turpitude, and realize that not only has the enemy looked us in the eye and brought the 'battle' over our precious children to our doorsteps, but because we have been distracted with the cares of this world, and not doing enough diligent 'watching' and 'praying', the enemy has unfortunately walked into our very homes and taken our children captive. Don't be surprised when I tell you that our children have even been taken captive in some of our churches because we have not actively engaged

this present generation and trained them to recognize and do battle against the tactics of the devil.

 

We can only begin to save this generation when we who are called to be 'responsible' and 'caring' parents and adults  begin to humble ourselves and realize we have not always 'stood our ground'  when it has come to keeping our children away from the enemy's distractions, influences, and wordly pleasures.......Consider This:

 

God has said that his people (US) are destroyed for Lack of Knowledge! Hosea 4:6....... Over the past few decades while we, because of a lack of fortitude or ignorance failed to take notice, satan, the prince of the power of the air has used his global influence to steal, corrupt and destroy the minds, bodies and souls of our children and young adults in record numbers, right from under our noses while we, as responsible Christian adults, continue to blindly stand by. We are also unknowingly helping him[satan] to destroy our children by supporting the 'world' system in it's 'corrupt' entertainment of our offspring. We allow our children to watch Television totally unsupervised without ever noticing the 'agenda' of the enemy teaching our chidren morally corrupt values. We allow our children to have unfettered access to the internet and allow them to sequester themselves in closed bedrooms only to be exposed to wrong things, ideas, and people who can cause them lasting harm. We give our children money to buy music with extremely filthy 'suggestive content' and 'language' without ever questioning them and holding them accountable for what they are listening to. We also purchase the private listening devices so that they can download unacceptable material to listen to any

time of the day or week, even while they sleep. When our children want to go to a movie we often let them choose a 'show' to go see with their friends without ever sitting down ahead of time and not being afraid to discuss with them what is 'appropriate' and 'acceptable' to watch. You may not have realized this but many of our children are exposed to over 18,000 murders that they see on television and at at the movies before they even graduate from High School...... Last, but not least, we sometimes accompany our children to the video store to purchase or rent extremely violent video games, many of which depict storylines of 'sorcery' and 'witchcraft' and 'bloodshed' that is too

graphic to mention in detail in this article; many including 'murder' and some including violence and rape against women and others. Did you know that in the beginning, these new generation digital video games that so many of our children are exposed to and some even addicted to, were originally created and modeled after training videos that branches of our armed services uses to train soldiers in 'deadly warfare?'....... Is it any wonder that our kids are behaving and engaging in ways we cannot seemingly fully comprehend or accept.

 

People of God everywhere, please take heart!... All is NOT Lost!!!!  God said in his word in Romans 5:20 that "Where sin abounded, GRACE did much more abound"! Although I am a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I am not adverse to entertainment in the way it was intended to be: Pure clean fun without advocating harm or violence to someone else, But while we were 'sleeping' our enemy has crept in and turned us against 'righteous behavior' by deceiving us through twisted, unhealthy entertainment. 

"What do we do to 'take back our children' from the hand of the enemy?........... 

 

1.) Pray regularly for patience and wisdom

 

2.) Love your Children unconditionally because Love covers a multitude of sins

 

3.) Hide the word of God in your heart and teach it to your children of all ages

 

4.) No longer be ignorant of the devices that the enemy is using to corrupt your child's mind. Be aware of the temptations they are exposed to

 

5.) If your child confesses to you that He/She is caught up in an 'ongoing' sin or habit, don't react in shock or anger. Know that the enemy may use that 'wrong' response from you to shame them into deeper wrong behavior, instead do what God does when he tells us he has "Loved us with Lovingkindness and drawn us to him with an everlasting Love" (Jeremiah 31:3)

 

6.) Always be willing to ask your Pastor, Spiritual, or Professional Counselor for prayers and assistance if necessary
