A Reason for Your Season, by Dr. Corey L. Brown

corey-brown.jpg"And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14).

In our text for today, we discover that God's people are in exile. While in exile a plot is made by Haman, a Persian nobleman, to get rid of all the Jews. Mordecai, a Jew, refused to kneel down and honor Haman and now Haman has decided to take things out on the Jews.
Mordecai seeks the help of his niece, Esther, since she now holds the position of Queen. Esther found favor with the King of Persia and was chosen to be his Queen. Mordecai tries to persuade Esther to become a blessing to her people by letting her know that God has placed her in a strategic position "for such a time as this."

Please understand that we have been placed where we are for the time in which we live to become a blessing to those around us. God has blessed you the way He has "for such a time as this:"--A time when some young girl needs to know that she can be successful in spite of growing up on the "wrong side of the tracks"; A time when some young boy needs to know that he can provide for himself and his family without selling drugs; A time when someone needs to know that they can overcome their addiction to drugs. You were created "for such a time as this."

It's not by accident that you were created to live during this particular time. God didn't design for you to live during the years of slavery. Nor did He ordain for you to contribute during the Civil Rights Movement. He created you to live "for such a time as this."

You ought to be willing to use what God has done in your life to become a blessing to somebody else. You should be willing to use where God has placed you to help deliver someone else. Look back and see where you were before you made it to where you are and that should inspire you to become a blessing in a time such as this.

For further study, please read Esther 4:9-14.
