The Unlimited Potential of Your Access Seed, by Dr. Fred Hodge

fredhodgepic.JPG
"But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God." - II Corinthians 9:6-111
We can see that sowing into the kingdom of God produces more than just money; it produces many other spiritual blessings as well. Grace is God's favor poured out on you to increase your sufficiency in all things, for His glory, praise and honor. Sowing into God's kingdom can yield not only tangible blessings such as: a nice home, lots of clothes, or a fine car; it can also yield intangible blessings such as: joy unspeakable, favor with others, the peace of God, and peace with God. The verse says that God is able to make all grace abound toward you so that you can have all sufficiency in all things abounding in every good work. Let's see here: marriage is a good work; raising children is a good work; advancing your career is a good work; and supporting your church is a good work. He will grant grace to abound for every good work.

The seed faith law gives God the right to multiply your seed sown. But as you just read in verse six of second Corinthians nine, if you sow little, you will reap little; if you sow a lot, you will reap a lot. It is entirely up to you to give God an access point through which to bless your life. When Peter said yes to Jesus using his boat, he did not know at that point of his obedience that he had set a principle into motion on his behalf. That principle is: when you give for the sake of the Gospel you are entitled to increased abundance and overflow. Mark 10:28-30 relates to us the story:

"Then Peter began to say to Him, 'See, we have left all and followed You.' So Jesus answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life.'"

Jesus borrowed Peter's boat to preach the Gospel and then turned around and blessed him. All Peter had in his possession was his obedience and his boat. My question is: What do you have that God can use to advance His kingdom affairs, and afterwards can be used as a point of access for your miracle?

Can you see the pattern here? The recipient is in a situation of duress or of great need, and then he is presented with an opportunity to advance the kingdom of God. From our examples in the previous chapter, in each case a sacrifice had to be made. None of the recipients knew that behind the challenge to help advance the kingdom was an opportunity to advance personally as well. None of them knew ahead of time that their obedience would trigger the supernatural.

Look at the process: First, you give, and make the first move, then God moves. Look at God's pattern--He uses what is in your possession to work a miracle on your behalf.

In Peter's case, it was his fishing business that God used to return the blessing of a large catch of fish unto him. With the woman at Zarephath, it was her willingness to cook her last meal for the prophet that sustained herhousehold for three and a half years during the famine. With the widow whose sons were about to be put into slavery for a debt that she owed, it was a sellable commodity found in her house--the jar of oil, coupled with favor to be able to borrow vessels from her neighbors. If you look closely, all the recipients had two things: an obedient heart without question and a natural resource in their possession.

Take what you have, give it to God to use for His Kingdom and you will create a channel for God to access your life with great blessings. This goes along with what Jesus said in Matthew 6:33: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Putting God first will always entitle you to a return on your giving.

The Scripture reveals a covenant that God makes with the believer when that believer supports Kingdom business and that is, that the believer will not be forgotten. He promises to reward their efforts with a supernatural return.

Let's look again at Mark 10:28-30 when Peter said we have left all and followed You. The Word promises a hundredfold return on your participation in expanding God's kingdom. The hundredfold simply means you will receive a maximum return on your giving.

Do you remember the woman who had her husband build an addition on to her home for the prophet because he passed that way often? The prophet sent his servant, Gehazi, to the woman to ask what she wanted from the Lord. She replied that she had everything she needed. Gehazi noticedshe had no child so the prophet prophesied over her a son. She did not receive one hundred rooms for her return. She received a son, the maximum and the best return for her life. I encourage you to exercise your faith and watch God do the impossible in your life.

Asking is a Key to Access

The Word of God contains the principles that open the door to the supernatural. The more we read the Word the more our faith will grow. The cornerstone for any biblical promise is our faith. Galatians tell us that the promises of God are not automatic so the study of the Word is critical to building faith to receive from God. The Word of God is the key to walking in this supernatural lifestyle. Look at John 15:7, which states: "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."

He wants us to have a fruitful life, one that pleases Him and is fulfilling to us.

God wants to work the miraculous in our lives; in fact the Scripture tells us that He takes pleasure in providing for us. Look in Psalm 35:27: "Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."5 He is not trying to take life from you. He has provided this awesome life for you.  In John 10:10 He writes: "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

God delights in doing things for us. We are His children. This is what Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:11: "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" From this verse we see that the number one criteria to receiving is asking.

The Bible teaches that the principle for receiving is asking. If we do not work the principle God has no legal grounds to grant the promise. Remember He is a God of order and must operate according to the laws that He has established in the earth. When we operate in biblical principles we release the supernatural in our lives. When we ask we give Him access.

John 16:23-24 states: "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."

I encourage you to realize the unlimited potential of your access seed and work smarter and not harder by letting go and letting God work the miraculous in your life.
