Don't be Ashamed, by Dr. Corey L. Brown

"But he himself insisted, I am the man" (John 9:9).

In this text, we discover that Jesus has healed a man who was born blind. He spit on the ground and made some mud with saliva and put some on the man's eyes. He then told the man to go and wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man did just as Jesus told him and he came away seeing.
The thing that caught my attention appears in verse eight. The folk who knew him when he sat and begged for money before, were baffled and confused when they saw him again. They doubted if this was the same person because the man that used to sit and beg was now standing and not asking them for a thing. After seeing the folk's amazement and after hearing their doubts, the man boldly informed them, "I am the man."

This year, I want to encourage you to work on your weakness so you won't be in the same condition tomorrow as you're in today. Allow the Lord to work on you and be willing to do what He's calling you to do, so folk will end up baffled and amazed at the change that has taken place in your life. You ought to be willing to change for the better so you can boldly proclaim, "I am the man." "I am the man who used to get high. I am the woman who used to tell lies. I am the man who used to run the streets. I am the woman who used to get drunk. Yesterday, I was in one condition, but today is a different story."

Make an effort to change for the better by being determined not to remain in the same condition you're in today. And when God turns your situation around don't be ashamed about your past, but boldly proclaim, "I am the man."
