It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christ..., by Shelia E. Lipsey

We are approaching what I deem to be the most sacred holiday of the year - Christmas. It is the time that we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Maybe you've had a hard year, like many people all over the world! Recession, depression, unemployment, violence, homelessness just to name some of the devastation that the world has seen in 2009. But it still does not remove from my heart and spirit of how grateful I am that God Is.
Maybe times are hard right now and you don't know where your next penny is going to come from. Maybe you're one who's homeless or hungry, whose in need of a job and hope. I am here to tell you that no matter how hard times are, God Is. No matter what this world lays before you, God is greater. God Is.
We will all face trials, problems and temptations in life. That's a given. Even if you are blessed to have money, a home, food, family, friends and loved ones, there is still going to be trouble that comes in your life. Just because you are a child of the Most High King, the King of Kings, does not excuse you from the troubles of this world. God Is.
All I've come to share with you are these words: God Is! God sent His son Jesus and this is the time we set aside to thank God for Jesus. For the birth of Jesus I give Him praise, honor and thanks. God Is.
For a moment, whisper thank you to God. For a second, take your minds off of your problems, forget about what you don't have and remember that God can suddenly do a new thing in your life! God Is.
I thank God for Christmas. I thank God for Jesus Christ. I thank Him for His sovereignty. Join in with me and praise God from whom ALL blessings flow because God Is!
