I Am That I Am

God has many names but all lead to the one true and living God.  He is the Prince of Peace, the Lily of the Valley, Wonderful, Counselor, Jehovah Jireh and so much more.  He is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient.  But the one name that defies all of the above in my eyesight is the name 'I Am that I Am.' 

After researching the history of I Am that I Am, I'll attempt to define it in laymen's terms for many of us who are not theologians or great Biblical scholars.  I Am that I Am basically means that God incompenses everything. God is not dependent on anything or anyone. He exists by Himself and is the creator of all, yet He has not been created by anyone. Wow, that says a lot to me.  It is good news for those like you and me who trust, believe and rely on God.  It is even greater news for those who walk in His steps, obey His commandments and seek His will. 

It is awesome news for the children of the great I Am that I Am because He says in Romans 8:17, 'And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.'  Can you imagine it? Wrap your finite minds around that.  We are actually beneficiaries of all that belongs to I Am that I Am.  We have been adopted so we are privy to goodness and mercy.  We are blessed with good and perfect gifts sent directly from I Am that I Am in this lifetime!  But the thing that absolutely has me so full of joy is the fact that even when my physical body plays out and I answer the call of death, that I shall still exist. I become just like I Am that I Am. My spirit, my soul lives on eternally in bliss. I will be living with I Am that I Am. I will no longer be subjected to tears and fears, worry and pain, tragedies and disappointments. I will no longer die but live on eternally!

I am grateful that one day God chose me. I am grateful that I have been adopted into His Kingdom.  Did you know that while I was yet a sinner I Am that I Am chose me! That blows my mind. The thought that the great I Am that I Am loved and loves me so much that He died so that I will live eternally.  He died so that even though my physical body continually disintegrates, decays and deteriorates, that my soul will abide eternally with I Am that I Am. 

But wait, the good news doesn't stop there, because this eternal opportunity is not only for me.  That's what makes it so exciting. You see, readers, God is no respecter of persons.  What He does for me, He will do for you.  What He does for you He will surely do for me.  That means that you can have the same assurance and reassurance that God shall do whatever He says that He will do. He is the great I Am that I Am. 

Nothing above, around, below, or next to I Am that I Am can reside unless He says so. His commandments are all that matter. He speaks to the wind and tells the wind how hard to blow and which direction to flow. He speaks to the water of the deep wide oceans and causes the waves to crash against the seashore.  He is the giver of life above and beneath the mighty oceans. He is the one that has the sovereign power to do all and everything.  Without the great I Am that I Am there is nothing. 

I Am that I Am is my source of joy, strength and blessings.  I Am that I Am is my savior, the source of my strength.  I Am that I Am is the strength of my life.  Perhaps you may be reading this and have thought about stepping out and choosing the great I Am that I Am, then I encourage you to do so now.  I Am that I Am is so awesome and His promises are yea and not nay. I cannot talk or speak or write for anyone else.  I can only speak for myself.  I can only tell you what I know He has done for me.  The great I Am that I Am is the reason that I am who I am, and that's quite all right with me.
