When to Quit

"And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him." -Mark 5:17, 18
We
see here that our Lord Jesus Christ, knowing all things, did not
persist when the people did not receive Him. We also need to be
discerning as to when to end our witness to those who are lost. Below
are a few points as to when you should probably discontinue your
soul-winning presentation:
- When they show anger.
- When they confess that they are a part of a cult, and that they enjoy what they are involved in.
- When they are not listening, but just arguing.
- When they show more interest in a television program than what you are saying.
- When you are convinced when they say, no, and they mean, no.
- When they are busy working on their job.
- When they flatly say, "I do not want to talk," and they walk away from you.
- When you do not feel welcome any more.
- When they have another appointment.
- When the Holy Spirit of God says, "Go."
Remember
that you cannot save anyone, only God can. "It is not by might, nor by
power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts" (Zechariah 4:6).
Don't quit witnessing altogether, but just quit when it is time to quit
on an individual basis, as the Lord leads.
