Move Forward

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead (Philippians 3:13 NIV)

It's time to let go of the past. Move forward into the future that God has for you. It's time to stop stalling around and keep going. If you are dwelling on the past, remembering your mistakes, thinking about lost jobs, financial pressures, broken relationships, it's time to move. 

Moving forward does not mean you will no longer experience the hurt of the past. Moving forward does not mean you will instantaneously get another job, or receive a huge windfall of money.  What moving forward does mean is that you won't be staying where you were. The place where you are now, is not the place where you will remain if you learn how to keep going. 

Keep going. Move forward. Run your race. This is the month of the Olympics. We see people everyday moving toward winning; living their dreams now, going for the gold, running their races.  We too, have to use this same fierce fire of passion to get us out of the miry pit and move us into God's marvelous plans.

God says "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." So we are to live with hope and expectancy. We are to keep going when we don't want to keep going. We are to keep moving forward when we don't want to keep moving. We have a race to run. 

While running your race of life, remember: The race isn't [won] by fast runners, or the battle by heroes. Wise people don't necessarily have food. Intelligent people don't necessarily have riches, and skilled people don't necessarily receive special treatment. But time and unpredictable events overtake all of them. God has great things for all of His children. If we believe that He is who He says that He is; if we keep the faith, hold on to trust, stand ready to receive his mercy, rejoice in the grip of His grace, then we shall have a good life here on earth and in the eternal life to come with Christ Jesus. Go on, Move forward and see what the Lord will do.
