Unbury Your Treasure

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. - Matthew 6:21

The treasure of living this earthly life as a child of God is one that cannot be purchased with material wealth.  Read the many definitions of the word  'treasure':

1. Wealth or riches stored or accumulated

2. Wealth, rich materials, or valuable things.

3. Anything or person greatly valued or highly prized

4. To retain carefully or keep in store, as in the mind

5. To regard or treat as precious; cherish.

6. To put away for security or future use, as money.

I am one of God's treasures. You are one of His treasures too. All that we can ever hope to be can be found by going through Jesus Christ. He looks on us and He identifies us as heirs and joint heirs. We are the sheep (treasure) of His pasture. We are the recipients of every good gift (treasure) and perfect gift (treasure) that comes down from Him. God says He will open up the windows of heaven and pour us out blessings (treasure) that there will not be room enough to receive them.

God regards us as precious. He values us so much that He made us in His own likeness and image. He goes so far as to tell us that the wealth (treasure) of the wicked is laid up for the righteous. God is so magnificent. He Himself is a treasure. He is the Great Treasure, one that cannot be contained in the ground, but has burst forth with the fruit of perfection, love, mercy and grace.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the LOVE of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."  God's love for us is so great that He gave His only begotten son to die in our stead on the cross. We are the sheep of His pasture. The shepherd treasures His sheep. The shepherd will go out and look for that one lost sheep because very sheep is essential and important to the shepherd.

The kingdom of heaven is prepared for those of us who God treasures. His children, those who are under His shield of protection and this glory of salvation. We are a uniquely formed creation with the treasure of greatness made on the inside of us. We have treasures of dreams, talents and gifts that are waiting to be unburied and let loose in this world. We have God given purpose that can be carried out only by you, you and you. We are the fruit. We are the great ones, the apple of God's eye.

Stop stalling. Stop doubting. Stop holding yourself back from all of the abundant treasures that God has for you in this life. Set your sites on doing God's will and following God's way.  Unbury the treasures that God has placed in your spirit, your mind and your heart. Where your treasure is there your heart will be also.
