Is God Real, by Shelia Lipsey

The true ones who profess to Know that they Know that they Know God? I'm searching for the ones that have no problem defending the doubters and the haters. I'm talking to the believers and saved people and posing the question that many people wrestle with. "Is God Real?"
I pose this question today because in a world where there is mounting hatred, bigotry, racism mixed with murder, mayhem and total disregard for human life and dignity, where are the believers, the children of God? In a world where prayer is not allowed in schools, the ten commandments are not allowed in some state and government facilities, where parents are angry because they were not asked if their child(ren) could accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior─where do we, God's people stand. What positions do we hold for the one who bled, died and gave His life for us? Where and when do we make a fearless move for faith and not be ashamed of our beliefs?
Our witness, our lives, the words that pour from our mouth and the manner in which we live each day - can we truly say that we live the answer that many people long to know? Is God Real?
Some say, how can God be real? We cannot see Him; He is not tangible; There is so much evil in the world; there is so much hate in the world; people are molesting children; and doing all kind of sick, wicked and evil acts. Where is God. Is God Real? After all, God is not someone you encounter every day.
So many of us fail to as 'saved children of the Most High King' to live a life where others can see and sense Christ in us. Showing God's realness extends far past the pulpit. It goes beyond the church doors. It spreads further than TV evangelism and how-to books. It goes past locked doors and hearts of fear; it's more than ignoring the plight of someone in trouble.
In a young generation that is seeking to learn; in s young generation where the Word of God can make a gigantic change in the world, where are the movers and shakers? In a world where chaos and war is continuing, let those who proclaim to love Christ, stand up for Christ. Let those of us who say we love Christ, show love toward our neighbors and pray for our enemies. "On the contrary: 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head' (Romans 12:20-NIV).
Let us love the stranger on the street, the homeless person whose clothes may be smelly and they wreak of the lack of a place to wash themselves; let us show love toward the less fortunate, the sick, the hungry, the unsaved. Let us move beyond the comfortable pews of the church house, where supposedly likeminded people who love Christ gather, and begin to move our ministry beyond the walls that confine the saved. Let us love without stuffing religiosity down their throats. Let us show by doing, by giving, by love.
If you know that God is Real, then move, shake up the world with love. Stop criticizing and condemning those who fall short because the Word of God says very plainly that, "We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. (Romans 3:22 -24 NLT). God set the record straight, so we can't get it twisted.
You may be 'saved.' You may Know that you Know that you Know, but until you live a life that exemplifies Christ; one that inspires, motivates, encourages and pricks the curiosity of an unbeliever to the point where that unsaved person asks the question, Is God Real?, then you still have to answer the question for yourself.
You can boldly proclaim through your life like the Psalmist said, "And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge. (Psalm 50:6.) Or maybe you can live a life that reveals that, 'My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73:26 NIV)
Is God Real? Yes, He is! Take the test. Follow Him and decide for yourself.
