Seeing the Secret

Today, I want to talk to the ladies about a word that has gotten a bad reputation in Christian circles: submission. Submission is not a popular topic, but I want to share with you a secret that can help you see it in a different light. 

The secret of submission lies in who you are submitting to. Ultimately, when a wife submits to her husband, she is submitting to God because He is the One who has designed marriage according to these guidelines. God honors those who honor Him. So the secret of submission is in trusting God. 

A wife's trust must be in the Lord. It's one thing to trust a man when things are fine and he is fulfilling his roles as leader and lover. But it's another story altogether when he's not. That's why your trust must always be placed in God. Your eyes must be focused on the Lord, not on your husband. Because when you look to God in faith, you will see things that others do not see. You will see with spiritual eyes. 

The definition of a spiritual man or a spiritual woman is not someone who does spiritual things like reads their Bible, prays, or goes to church. The definition of a spiritual person is someone who sees things spiritually. You may look at your husband and say, "Submission doesn't make sense." But when you see things through the eyes of faith, life takes on a whole new dimension. Remember: If all you see is what you see then you will never see all there is to be seen. Keep your eyes on Jesus because He is the One who will reward your act of faith.
