View Bio The beginning of the Qur'an testifies to the desire in a people's lives for Allah to "Show us the straight way" (surah 1:6). Those who follow the will of Allah may be rewarded with Paradise, while those who follow the crooked way will be judged accordingly (surah 43:61).

In fact, chapter 43 in the Qur'an is essential in understanding that the straight way according to Islam is directly linked with the second coming of Jesus Christ who will prepare the way of judgment in the Last Days. This passage also attributes Christ as saying, "For Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship ye Him: this is a Straight Way" (surah 43:64). Therefore, ,when Muslims claim that Jesus taught the "straight path," they are asserting that Jesus never desired for anyone to follow Him or worship Him, for judgment and mercy come only from Allah.
Biblical evidence contradicts such a notion. Jesus states in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." It is clear through this passage, as well as through many others (for example, John 10:7-9), that Jesus is the "straight path".
