I was sidelined and confined for close to four months as I sought to recover and get back into, as my father often says, the "normal walks of life." As I reflect on the process of this surgery, some spiritual truths came into my mind that I would like to share with you.
It is without a doubt that we live in a society that is now driven by levels of materialism. We determine the length, depth and width of a person's importance by the amount of material gain he or she shows. This philosophy has now, unfortunately, found its way into the church.
