Conviction of Pastor Sought for 'Homosexual Hate Speech'
Social
conservatives across Canada are up in arms over the recent ruling by
the Alberta Human Rights Commission (AHRC) against Christian pastor
Steve Boissoin, who was accused of propogating "hate speech" by writing
a letter to the editor of the Red Deer Advocate outlining his
disagreement with the homosexualist activist agenda. The Boissoin
decision has added further fuel to the fire of the already heated
campaign against Canada's human rights commissions, with many Canadian
conservatives adding the decision to the list of grievances that they
say prove that the commissions are staffed almost exclusively by
liberal, anti-conservative and anti-Christian activists.

Obama’s
Success Demonstrates That the American Ideal of Equality
for All Still Holds True, by Joseph C. Phillips
“Barack
Obama has been ordained by God” to be our next president. Or
so
read the email from a friend of mine. Of course, he is not alone in
this opinion. Illinois Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is on record as
suggesting that this Obama victory “is so extraordinary that
another chapter could be added to the Bible to chronicle its
significance." I remain unconvinced that the senator’s
clinching
the Democratic nomination is on a par with, say, parting the Red Sea or
rising from the dead -- Obama’s promise in his victory speech
that his administration will “heal the planet” and
calm the
oceans notwithstanding. I am, however, excited by the historical moment.

Al
Sharpton says 'What Shakedowns?' (Rev. Challenges NY Post Writers to
Debate After Negative Articles)
Rev.
Al
Sharpton has released a statement condemning the New York Post for
publishing articles that accuse him of shaking down corporate CEOs
through threats of boycotts. The most recent article, published Sunday
by writers Isabel Vincent and Susan Edelman, claims that several
companies donated thousands of dollars to Sharpton’s National
Action Network after the civil rights activist threatened to accuse
them of racist practices.

New 'Pro-Life Pharmacies' Defend Religious, Moral Objections
In
2002,
Neil Noesen, a Wisconsin pharmacist and devout Roman Catholic, faced a
nightmare after he was slapped with $20,000 in court fines and
restrictions on his license for refusing to hand a patient prescription
that could be used for an abortion. That case, like dozens of other
similar cases that have dotted the nation, have spurred the development
of a growing number of new “pro-life pharmacies”
that cater
specifically to guarding the religious objections of pharmacists
opposed to contraceptives and abortion drugs.

Breathrough Novel, Womb
Child, by Author, Alethea Pascascio, Takes You into the
Mind of a Fetus
Does
life really begin at
the moment of conception? Is a fetus merely a mass of flesh without a
soul or spirit? Are we predestined before conception to fulfill a
certain God-given role? Author, Alethea Pascascio, in her newly
released novel, Womb
Child,
takes you into the mind of a fetus named, Israel, to help you answer
these questions. Israel is predestined to negotiate peace between two
Middle Eastern countries that will be on the brink of a nuclear war in
the year 2038. Will he live to fulfill his God-ordained role?

George
Lucas Behind New Tuskegee Airmen Film
The
black
airmen whose lives will be the basis of a George Lucas movie know the
picture will highlight their record of successfully escorting thousands
of U.S. bombers in World War II. They also feel it should tell of the
trials they encountered stateside, like seeing German prisoners of war
being treated better and afforded rights that were withheld from black
American citizens.

Teenage
Author Encourages her Peers in her Book, The Girl God Wants:
Sister-to-Sister Talk about Loving God, Living a Great Life, and
Enjoying It
Society
throws a lot of
ungodly stuff at young ladies today and it is hard to find things that
can empower them to greatness. In The Girl God
Wants,
author, Daniella Whyte, (age 14 when she commenced the writing of this
book), helps young ladies with some of the issues that they face today.
Oftentimes, it is easier for teenagers to relate to each other and they
are sometimes more eager to listen to the advice of their peers, rather
than their parents, pastors, and teachers.

Celtics Bring it Back Home One More Time
The
Boston Celtics won their 17th NBA title in relentless fashion,
trouncing the L.A. Lakers 131-92 to win the NBA Finals in six games.
It's the Celtics' first title in 22 years, dating back to the Larry
Bird era. Boston's 39-point win surpassed the NBA record for the
biggest margin of victory in a championship clincher. The 1965 Celtics
beat the Lakers by 33 to win the title that year.

On "Being Saved"
in Black America
While growing up in a very
religious and church-going family, I often heard the phrase "Being
Saved." Now to me and my peers, "Being Saved" was a rather spooky and
mystical thing, and only the real holy folk could be such —
whatever it was.

Pastor
of the Week:
Dr. Stan B. Bennett, Pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Richmond, VA
Dr.
Stanley (Stan) Bennett was born in Fairfield, Alabama on August 12,
1950. On November 18, 1972, Dr. Stan B. Bennett married Deborah E.
Patterson. They are blessed with one daughter, Pamela McCoy;
and,
two sons: Mathew and Jonathan. Dr. and Mrs. Bennett are
privileged to be the grandparents of several grandchildren. On July 29,
1979, after returning home from work as an assistant business manager,
God began to burden this young black man's heart to receive Christ as
Savior. After receiving Jesus Christ as Savior, God shortly
thereafter led he and his family to an Independent Fundamental Baptist
Church. Dr. Stanley Bennett was not called to build a "Black Church,"
but rather a church for all people! It is his belief that one
day
black, white, Hispanic and Asian will live together in
heaven.
Because of this, it ought to be able to work on earth, in the house of
God! To God be the glory, great things He has done! "...and
yet
there is room."
