The husband and wife looked at each other in trepidation. They were the facilitators for the course, and they were supposed to set an example. Could they do it?
They took the plunge and today they say it was worth it. In less than a year they've paid off two credit cards and recently bought a new (used) car with cash.
Northwoods Baptist Church and Killearn United Methodist Church are offering the 13-week course, starting on Monday. Twelve other Tallahassee churches began courses in January and February.
Some churches have offered the course for years, claiming that being debt free is a biblical principle. But the current financial crisis may be an added incentive.
