When Third Day, Jeremy Camp, tobyMac and other Christian music artists perform at this year's Rock the Universe at Universal Studios in Orlando, some of them will be performing in the Music Plaza - the park's brand-new, outdoor concert venue.
The venue is a total of about 32,000 square feet, and includes 15,156 square feet of synthetic viewing lawn, leaving plenty of room for guests to enjoy the shows.
In addition, the venue is located next to Universal's newest roller coaster: Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.
With the roller coaster zipping by as artists perform, 'we're going to have to work hard to get people's attention,' said Mark Lee, band member of three-time Grammy Award winner Third Day.
'I think the roller coaster will enhance the enjoyment of the evening,' he said.
Since Rock the Universe began 12 years ago, Third Day has participated in the event consistently.
'It's something we always look forward to for sure,' Lee said. 'It's a chance to get together and feel a sense of community.'
While some events he's been to haven't been very fan-friendly, Lee said that Rock the Universe is both enjoyable for the artists and fans.
Jeremy Camp, a 17-time Christian Singles Billboard chart-topper, agreed. 'I love playing here, because it's at an amazing place, the people are great, and it offers the fans all the acts and experience instead of just a normal concert.'
'There's an energy about the place with school starting and it being at Universal. It's just a wonderful time for everyone in the whole family,' he said.
Music artist tobyMac is all about energy as well.
He said Rock the Universe is the right atmosphere for his rock and roll and hip hop style.
'My music is kind of like a party waiting to happen,' he said. 'The energy coming out of the crowd is great.'
While he loves the fun, tobyMac said it's nice to be able to get together with other believers sharing their faith and love of music.
'It becomes this all out celebration,' he said.
Early September, without a doubt, brings thousands of contemporary Christian fans to Orlando.
Rock the Universe is even adding a third day of music this year on Sunday to meet the demands of fans.
'The growth has been expediential over the years. We're very happy with the path that Rock the Universe has taken,' said Tom Schroder, spokesman for Universal Orlando Resort.
'The popularity of Rock the Universe and the passion of the people who attended showed us that our audience wanted more,' he said.
Barlow Girl, Plumb, pureNRG, and Group 1 Crew are among the artists to perform Sunday. Concerts are free with admission to the park.
Not far from Universal, Disney's Night of Joy will be rocking with its own selection of Christian entertainment such as Chris Tomlin, Newsboys and Flyleaf.
Night of Joy began as a one-day event in 1983.
It has since exploded into a well attended event every year.
Newsboys, who recently brought on Michael Tait, a former DC Talk member, as its lead singer, has performed at Night of Joy for years.
Band member Duncan Phillips said he enjoys Night of Joy for its ability to unify different groups of people.
'That doesn't happen too often,' he said.
