Review of Ted Winn's "Balance"

Ted Winn was a member of the duo Ted & Sheri in the 1990s and won two Stellar Awards and other acclaim for the group's work. Today he is broadening his reach with his debut solo album, Balance.

Winn combines urban-contemporary sounds with mid-tempo praise and poignant worship to send listeners a message uncharacteristic of the gospel music genre. He says the project is a "twist" on traditional gospel that "seeks to save the lost." The singer, instead, reaches out to both Christians and unbelievers alike with Bible-based messages.

"I want my music to become a vehicle to move people to a balanced place in life," he says of the title cut.

Winn inspires listeners with tracks including "His Favor" and "Reap." And with cuts such as "Moving Forward," "God Believes in You," "No Weapon" and other tracks, he affirms God's faithfulness to His people.

Winn challenges, uplifts and draws listeners into an authentic relationship with the Father. Says Winn: "It is my belief that God wants us to appreciate and experience Him in a multiplicity of ways."
