There are many people who know and love Jeremiah Wright. And due to the last presidential race, there are some people who don't like Jeremiah Wright. Whatever one may think of him, he has to be given some credit because he is the first Black pastor of a historically Black church who has produced a president of the United States. He also kindly warned America that "Barack Obama is a politician," and that he "ain't Jesus".
Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., pastor emeritus of the historic Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois, releases his new book on February 25, 2010, titled, A Sankofa Moment: The History of Trinity United Church of Christ. A Sankofa Moment gives the 48-year history of the Trinity United Church of Christ with a major emphasis on the building of the largest United Church of Christ congregation within the denomination that developed several ministries and several entities under the pastorate of Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr.
A Sankofa Moment refers to the following:
The Akan people of Africa have an important symbol known as Sankofa. It is expressed in the Asante Adinkra symbols as a bird whose body is heading in one direction, but whose head is turned in the opposite direction. What the symbol is teaching is that we cannot go forward without first going back to our past to understand how it is we got to where we are (Introduction, pg. 17).
This fascinating read will be released on February 25, 2010 by St. Paul Press. Be sure to get a copy and be sure to tell family and friends.

The Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. is a man of faith, a homiletic genius, a theological scholar and a pastor's pastor. He is a family man who enjoys spending quality time with his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. Dr. Wright is Pastor Emeritus of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Gardner C. Taylor, the "Dean of Black Preaching", had this to say as the Center for African American Theological Studies inaugurated its Annual Lecture in honor of Dr. Wright:
"People who love the Lord and who embrace the noblest concepts of our democracy will enthusiastically applaud the establishment of the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. Lectureship. The Lectureship appropriately salutes the Pastor and mentor who prepared President Barack Obama for the role of President of the United States."Mr. Obama had hardly any grasp of the meaning of being a Black person in the United States. By example and exhortation, Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., cured that deficiency, sending to Washington a President qualified to give America a chance to actually become a democracy!"

Bet it's a book about prejudice and racists white people written by a prejudice and racists black man.
let's give the man a chance now. he may have repented. it might be a good read
Racism is a subject that.needs to be brought to attention..We always want to push it under the carpet..
Yes, it might be. Why don't you read it? Let me know if he's repented. Please post it here. If he has, I might read it myself. Racism spreads like wildflower, you know? I don't want it catch it and/or pass it on to others.
Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. certainly has no problem pushing it under the rug. He lets us know just how prejudice and racist both he and the white man are. It takes one to know one. He can really point them out!
While we are giving Rev. Wright a chance, let's not forgive to give the white he criticizes a chance, too. They may have repented as well, and because God tells us not to be a respecter of persons, let's try our best not to be for Him.
Thank God!! Love is more powerful than racism and prejudice.
Oops, meant to say: Let's not FORGET to give the white man ...
I've got an idea...while you're reading Rev. Wright's book, if you feel yourself getting angry towards the white race rather than the devil, drop the book like a hot potato and run away from it.
The (Truth), no matter how ugly, how hurtful, or regardless how many refuse to deal with it, still never needs to be repented for.

Dr. Jeremiah wright is the most prolific writer of our days. If people would only but hear his story they may, in turn, understand his contributions to Americanized history that has been beautiful with African American contributions. Bless you Dr. Wright who is right!
I've heard him speak. Not to excited about reading his work.
Say "Yes!" to African American contributions. Say, "No" to JW's racism.
Amazing isn't it? How we, as Americans have grown too lazy to think for ourselves so we allow "spin" doctors to lambast a man of God who only spoke the truth. The facts of the matter are America was a racist country where slavery, bigotry and racism was justified everywhere, even in the halls of the Supreme Court through the Dred Scott Decision and Plessy vs. Ferguson. Even though Brown vs. Board of Education was decided in 1954, American did not desegregate without a struggle and in some cases, it still hasn't. Rev. Wright only spoke the truth and if those that are his detractors would only take the time to listen to the whole sermon instead of one or two parts, you might learn a little something about the African American church. Instead, you hide behind your own prejudice, satisfied to villify a man that brought the unpopular truth. Somewhere in that Bible you carry says something about studying to show yourself approved. Take the time to study the African American church before you hand down judgements regarding it only you and those others that have never set foot in one except to cover a news story, approve of. I'm telling you what some frightened Black folks won't tell you, you do not understand us. I'm challenging you, attend an African American four Sundays in a row. I'm praying for you, because you can only see the world through your own jaded eyes.
If it wasn't for white racists and black self-haters who helped divide a POWERFUL black devotee from his prominent black mentor, Dr. Jeremiah Wright would be considered and icon.
You make it very clear that you are a black racist, a hater of whites, and believe it or not, a self-hater wrapped up in one.
Unwisewordman, you're a hater, that's for sure. Why would you follow JW over JC?
These comments are pointless. If you are interested then read the book, if not then don't.
This blog appears to recieve a large ammount of visitors. How do you advertise it? It gives a nice individual spin on things. I guess having something real or substantial to post about is the most important factor.
