
Three numbers represent how dramatic Marty Fish's physical transformation has been.
Mardy Fish, hitting a forehand against Serbia's Viktor Troicki Tuesday in their first-round match at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic, credits dieting and fitness to his current success.
•203 -- his weight, in pounds, prior to knee surgery last September.
•170 -- his weight, in pounds, after Tuesday's 6-4, 6-3 win over Viktor Troicki at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic.
•And don't forget 11 -- his current win streak, the longest of Fish's career.
It's no surprise much of the attention around Fish these days surrounds his fitness and subsequent success.
"You'd be amazed how much easier you can move around the court with 30 pounds less," Fish, 29, said. "It can all be possibly traced back to it to be honest with you. I know am able to train and do things that I just didn't think I could or just couldn't in the past.
"That, in turn, means working on my forehand for longer or my backhand for longer and trying to develop a slice ... and all that stuff takes time."
