Robert Griffin III, the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback, who was the Washington Redskins first pick in this year's NFL draft, made a sign of the cross and pointed toward heaven as he lay on the turf in the Superdome on Sunday after throwing his first NFL touchdown pass.

The play went for 88 yards with receiver Pierre Garcon catching the ball and running it into the end zone. The completion was the second-longest touchdown-scoring pass play by a quarterback playing in his first NFL game.
