Atlanta-based The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation (www.smharveyfoundation.org), recently selected as gmc's UPLIFT SOMEONE Partner of the Week, is committed to meeting the needs of children through the support of community-based organizations and programs which foster excellence in the areas of health, education and social well-being within urban and ethnically diverse communities.

The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation's many programs have changed the lives of countless young people including a junior high school student named Sianna.
When Sianna attended the foundation's "Girls Who Rule the World" weekend in 2011 she was shy, afraid and trying to process the fact that all of her friends had moved on to the 9th grade, while she remained in the 8th grade due to failing her Criterion Referenced Competency Test (CRCT). Fear prevented her from raising her hand to ask for help in math, her toughest subject.
