Dear Santa,
This year, the only thing I want is some help with breakfast on Christmas morning. The family expects something special again, but I'm tired of knocking myself out while everyone else opens presents. I know you are busy, but I really need you Christmas morning.
Yours,
Mrs. Claus
Dearest Mrs. Claus,
I'm sorry that I won't be able to join you again -- you know I sleep in after working all night -- but I have some advice that will make up for it. Make a do-ahead buffet, anchored by an overnight breakfast casserole -- the kind that you put together Christmas Eve and bake in the morning. I offer three fantastic menus with something for everyone. Almost everything can be made ahead, and you can buy the baked goods at the supermarket. On Christmas morning, just plop the casserole in the oven and reheat the other hot foods in the microwave or on the stove. Follow my plan, and you'll have energy for making us a big Christmas dinner.
Merry Christmas,
Santa Claus
P.S. I think you'd enjoy a little rum in your eggnog.
