Sarah Palin Departs from Fox News

Sarah Palin has cut ties with Fox News Channel, ending an association with the cable network that had provided the most visible forum for her conservative views.
Fox confirmed that the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee would no longer be a regular on-air commentator, but declined to discuss the circumstances of her departure. The website Real Clear Politics said on Friday that Palin decided not to accept Fox's contract-renewal offer.

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Gov. Palin," said Bill Shine, Fox News' executive vice president of programming, in a statement. "We wish her the best in her future endeavors."

Palin has been an on-air contributer to Fox, the leading cable news channel, for the past three years. In interviews with Fox's conservative hosts, she typically offered pugnacious and headline-grabbing comments about President Obama.
