General William Shelton, head of the US Air Force Command, who oversees the Air Force's cyber operations, said that Iran is now going to be "a force to be reckoned with" in the cyber-sphere, reports Reuters. The Islamic Republic will want to make ground on diplomatic foes such the US and Israel, who are widely believed to have been responsible for Stuxnet, as well as last year's Flame attacks which also targeted Iran.

"The Iranian situation is difficult to talk about," Shelton said. "It's clear that the Natanz situation generated reaction by them. They are going to be a force to be reckoned with, with the potential capabilities that they will develop over the years and the potential threat that will represent to the United States."

With international conflict increasingly manifesting itself in the cyber-world, Shelton recognised the significance of technology in espionage and gathering intelligence.

"Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."
