Michael Vick got a little bit of job security and a decent chunk of guaranteed money from the Philadelphia Eagles Monday.
Vick's one-year contract is indeed worth up to $10 million and includes a $3.5-million signing bonus, according to a person informed of the contract details. The person, who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because the financials weren't to be discussed publicly, said Vick now has a base salary of $3.5 million - down from the $15.5 million he was to earn before the contract was rewritten.
The person said the remaining $3 million can be earned via incentives. Vick gets $500,000 if he takes 50 percent of the snaps this season and another $1 million if he's on the field for 90 percent of the snaps.
The remaining $1 million comes his way if he leads the Eagles to the first Super Bowl title in franchise history.
