Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus will be in Cleveland on Friday for what the party calls a "listening session" with African-American community leaders.
Mr. Priebus and Ohio Republican Party chairman Matt Borges plan to meet with about 40 African-American leaders at St. John AME Church, 2261 E. 40th St. in Cleveland. They plan to meet with the media around 5 p.m., after the session is concluded.
In a news release, Mr. Priebus said the listening session is one in a series of events the Republican National Committee is holding "to engage with different communities across the country to help grow and expand the GOP."
He said that as part of the Republican Party's effort to grow, "It's imperative we engage with different communities and groups from across the country, and there's no better place than Ohio to begin this conversation." He called Ohio "crucial to the GOP's success."
